Meet the Mets (featured)

I'm a Mets fan and I love being a Mets fan living in Southern California.

Why? Because when I go to Mets games, it's like a New York reunion. Even though most Mets fans at these games don't know each other, we all feel a kinship to this team and the city where we grew up.

The first Mets game I saw with my son here was when he was four years old, they were playing the Angels and it was the 2022 season. Pete Alonso crushed a home run that game, and all the Mets fans in my section (strangers to me) jumped up and down and hugged.

From that moment on my son was hooked on the Mets, and seeing the Mets on the road has become an integral part of my experience living out here.

Sports bring people together in magical and unique ways. One of the groups I work with, Future Fans, helps parents and kids bond over sports, teaching the game through a storybook approach and creating a lifetime of memories.

I just wanted to share these thoughts because it's baseball season and no matter how the Mets do in the standings, I'm looking forward to seeing them out here because I know win or lose it'll be an awesome time.
